Let’s get together again, even on a cup of coffee once
My mom still prepares coffee every day;
But no one tasted it,
Isn’t it time we met again?
Even if on a cup of coffee
And if it’s one time?
This is a quote from a text Written by Bayan Bagash on one of Aden’s autumn nights
With these words, the 26-year-old wanted to celebrate World Coffee Day, which falls on October 1st each year, before finding herself sadly asking when the fragmentation and diaspora have been ravaging the country for years
The daughter of Aden, who has a bachelor’s degree in English literature, works as an administrator at a leading business, yet the pressure of work does not prevent her from carrying out several voluntary activities in the field of development and peace.
According to Bagash, peace has become a far-fetched idea in light of the country’s crises and must be revived several times, but not only by uttering them, but by working “that embodies this word on the ground, where each of us can be a messenger of peace from where he exists.”
In general, Bayan believes that the renaissance of societies begins with improving the quality of education and instilling the values of coexistence and acceptance of the other as an indispensable priority “especially in light of what our country and the countries of the region in general are experiencing.”
From this point of view, it did not want its community role to be limited within the family, but went beyond that to community contribution in several areas
In her speaking about the beginnings of her community experiences, she says: “Like any young woman with a passion for science and knowledge of everything new, my scientific career was full of challenges and obstacles that the interruption of school as a result of war was not the most difficult period, but I was nevertheless always looking for my own role and influence among all this crowds.”
Volunteering in education, editing and language scrutiny is what she could have done in her early days, and she continues:
The passion for volunteering has grown more and I have begun to look for training opportunities through which I can make my way towards influencing my community in a thoughtful way and benefiting me as it is for those around me
After being associated with her current management job, Bagash had difficulty joining some voluntary opportunities, except that “passion does not die,” she said, volunteering to translate and edit WHO awareness videos about the danger of Covid19
At the same time, several economic and development articles have been translated to study global competitiveness indicators as well as volunteering to edit and scrutinize journalistic content within the framework of the peace press and taking into account the sensitivity of the conflict
“I couldn’t find a solution but to devote my day-to-day work and continue my volunteer activity in the evening, it may seem exhausting at first glance, especially for a working woman and a housewife, but for me it has turned into a dose of happiness and a different goal in this life,” she explains
She organized a statement of visits to nursing homes aimed at giving them psychological and material support, as well as campaigns to support rights and freedoms, and her team contributed to the initiative “Reconstruction of Aden Youth” to support the completion of water projects for some remote areas of Aden as well as to contribute to the supply of a sewage network to a neighborhood as part of the projects of the Youth Development Contribution Network
Women’s influence in the peace process no longer appears to be confined to a narrow space, but areas are wider and opportunities are greater, as, as a model women have become their presence and prominent role in the peace process in all activities and areas
She adds “Peace is a message that you can express, starting with your simplest dealings with those around you, your neighbors, your colleagues at work, and ending up in your role in rejecting hatred and instilling a spirit of coexistence in all forums where the individual is present
Here ,Byan doesn’t forget to point out that social media sites have become a place to spread hate speech. As a writer, she has harnessed her efforts to spread content aimed at reviving the spirit of coexistence and peace, because, she says, she believes that social media is the starting point “to control our emotions and tame ourselves to accept the other, and then not to publish any content that would fuel conflict even at the level of comments to make communication a safe environment to embrace all spectra and ideas.
